Volunteer
We believe that one person can make a difference in the life of an international college/graduate student or scholar studying in the US. International students are the best and brightest of their home countries and the future leaders of the world.

Through AMIS, volunteers can:

1. Get to know young people from different countries and learn about new cultures.

2. Welcome someone new to Atlanta and the U.S.

3. Share your knowledge, culture, and life skills with future world leaders.

4. Make a difference in a young professional's life.

5. Make a new friend!

Coming to the US can be a stressful, lonely, and intimidating experience, as well as a time of cultural adjustment. Offering friendship and hospitality to international students will help them to feel welcome in our city, give them confidence in their life here, and give them a positive experience with Americans. You may make a life-long friend, and you will expand your global perspectives as you get to know their cultures and experiences.

"AMIS welcomes lifelong learners from around the world to share in the blessed wonders of cultural exchange from food to music, language to philosophy. I have had the privilege of hosting students over several holidays, and I look forward to many more to come."

"AMIS provides unparalleled support to international students and offices in the greater Atlanta area. They offer wonderful opportunities for international students to connect with local community members through their AMIGO program, their events and holiday programs help connect participants with others from different institutions, creating a more enriching experience for international students."
